Tempo libero e altre cose / Free time and other things

Non ho ancora detto molto di cosa noi volontari facciamo nel nostro tempo libero. Io e Bertrand, come volontari SVE, abbiamo tempo libero durante le sere e il fine settimana. A Bertrand piace fare le passeggiate nel suo tempo libero. Alcune volte lui è partito di  mattina e ha fatto percorsi diversi nelle montagne della Valle. Anche io sono stata con lui – la natura nelle montagne è meravigliosa! Mi piace andare a piedi o con la bicicletta vicino a Il Casone. C’è un posto molto bello li vicino: la Fonte dell’Oriella, sorgente di acqua solfurea. La Fonte dell’Oriella si trova a circa 2,5 km dal Casone - perfetto per fare un’ora di cammino. 

Andiamo anche spesso a Roma. Per andare è molto semplice – solo 45 minuti con pullman e un bilgetto costa solo 3,4 €. A Roma non è difficile trovare cose da fare. Le possibilità sono illimitate shopping, cinema, ristoranti, musei… Mi piace fare giri a piedi, così posso vedere i posti belli, i parchi, i monumenti... Ci sono anche paesi interessanti vicino Anticoli Corrado. Con Bertrand abbiamo visitato Subiaco, Cervara di Roma, Roviano, Tivoli.

La temperatura ha iniziato ad essere più alta, quindi abbiamo potuto lavorare nell’orto di più. Abbiamo piantato i semi di insalata, prezzemolo e cipolle. Ho anche fatto una prova per la prima volta nella mia vita: con Bertrand abbiamo seminato i semi delle carote e degli zucchini in piccoli vasetti. Abbiamo mescolato la terra dell’orto e del nostro compost. L'intento è poi piantare le piante nell'orto, quando sono cresciute un pò, ma vediamo...

Venerdì, la settimana scorsa,  nella scuola di Anticoli Corrado abbiamo cantato in inglese con i bambini. Prima abbiamo deciso con Camilla di scelgiere due canzoni, “If you are happy and you know it” per i bambini più  piccoli e “Imagine” per i più grandi. Abbiamo cominciato a imparare il testo delle canzoni, piano piano, e prima abbiamo letto e tradotto le parole in italiano. Loro sono stati molto concentrati e hanno fatto molte domande. Le volte prossime continueremo questa attività e finalmente potremo cantare insieme tutta la canzone. Con la classe dei piu´piccoli abbiamo imparato “If you’re happy and you know it” con i movimenti (batti le mani, batti i piedi…). Sono molto fiera di loro tutti! :)

Questa settimana io e Bertrand abbiamo un corso di italiano a Roma. All’inizio del nostro progetto avevamo un corso  con l'insegnante e il prossimo corso sarà più avanzato. Tutti e due abbiamo migliorato la nostra capacità di italiano. Ho realizzato che un modo per migliore e imparare le lingue nuove è.. parlare! Quando sono venuta in Italia ho pensato che l'italiano fosse impossibile per me da imparare, perchè la mia madre lingua è molto diversa delle altre lingue in Europa. Ma giorno per giorno l'italiano è stato più facile. Questa cosa è veramente grande e importante per me, Noi due possiamo essere fieri di noi :))

I haven’t told before so much, how we volunteers spend our freetime. As EVS-volunteers I and Bertrand have free time during evenings and weekends. Bertrand likes to go for a walk in his freetime. Sometimes he leaves in the morning and do different walk routes in the mountains of the Valley. Couple of times I have been with him – the nature is wonderful! I also like to do little tours near Il Casone, on foot or by bicycle. Near Il Casone there is a nice place called Fonte dell’Oriella, which is a little natural pool and a source of sulfide water. Fonte dell’Oriella is about 2,5 km from Il Casone so it’s perfect when I want to do one hour walk. 

We also go often to Rome. It's very simple to go – only 45 minutes by bus and one ticket costs only 3,40 €. It’s not difficult to find things to do in Rome. Possibilities are unlimited: shopping, cinema, restaurants, museums… I like to do walks in Rome, it’s a good way to see nice places, like parks and monuments. Also near Anticoli Corrado there are many interesting places to visit. With Bertrand we have visited Subiaco, Cervara di Roma, Roviano, Tivoli...

While the weather is becoming warmer, we can work more in the organic garden. We have  planted seeds of salad, parsley and onions. I've also done a test for the first time in my life: With Bertrand, we have planted the seeds of carrots and zucchini in little jards, made of cardboard. We mixed the soil from the garden and from our compost. The aim is to plant these plants later, when they've grown a little, but we'll see...

Last Friday in the school of Anticoli Corrado we were singing with children. We decided with Camilla to pick two songs, “If you’re happy and you know it” for smaller children and “Imagine” for older. We started to learn the lyrics, slowly, first by reading and translating from English to Italian. They were very concentrated and asked a lot of questions about the song.  During the next weeks we continue, and finally we can sing all the song together. With other group, we learned “If you’re happy and you know it” with movements (clapping hands, stomping feet…). I’m very proud of them all! :)

This week I and Bertrand will have an Italian course in Rome. We had an Italian course in the beginning of our project with the same teacher, and the next course we'll be more advanced. We have both improved our skills in Italian. I’ve realized that the best way of learning new languages is, speaking! When I came to Italy, I thought first that learning Italian is impossible to me, because  my mother tongue is very different than many other languages in Europe. But, day by day, I’ve noticed that speaking Italian has become easier and easier for me. This thing is absolutely big and important to me, we both can be proud of ourselves :))
