Buon anno nuovo! / Happy new year!

Durante le feste di Natale, tutti noi siamo stati via dal Casone e siamo tornati nelle nostre rispettive case, per stare con i nostri amici e le nostre famiglie. È stato bello vedere la mia famiglia e i miei amici perchè mi sono mancati tanto! Quando siamo tornati al Casone il 2 gennaio, il tempo era insolitamente freddo. Durante alcuni giorni, la temperatura durante dei giorni e´addirittura scesa al di sotto dello 0. Anche la fontana nella piazza centrale di Anticoli Corrado era congelata!

A gennaio abbiamo iniziato lavorare ad alcuni nuovi progetti. Durante le ultime settimane abbiamo fatto delle  traduzioni per conto di V.A.R.A (Valle dell'Aniene Rete Associazioni), una rete di associazioni che lavora per la promozione della Valle dell’ Aniene. Io ho dovuto tradurre dall’ italiano all’ inglese. La traduzione è stata impegnativa per me, ma allo stesso tempo anche molto interessante perchè ho imparato molto sulla storia e la cultura della Valle dell’ Aniene. Inoltre, a febbraio inizieremo un progetto con la scuola elementare di Anticoli Corrado. Ogni venerdi organizzerò e svolgero’ delle attività in inglese per i bambini con l’aiuto di Camilla e gli altri di Legambiente. La scuola si trova vicino al municipio di Anticoli Corrado. Lo scopo di queste attività è che i bambini migliorino il loro inglese in modo piacevole e divertente. Come metodi di apprendimento, useremo la musica, giochi e pratica orale. Sono molto contenta di questa opportunità perchè mi piace molto lavorare con i bambini. In questo momento sto programmando le attività per la scuola perchè il primo incontro sarà la prossima settimana. Per trovare nuove idee per le attività con i bambini e per fare esperienza, ho iniziato anche a partecipare alle lezioni che Roberta Miracapillo, Presidente di Legambiente Mondi Possibili, organizza a Roma per il progetto di alternanza scuola/lavoro. Questa esperienza è molto importante e utile per me.

Bertrand ha continuato il suo progetto per programmare e organizzare i percorsi a piedi sulla Valle dell’ Aniene. Lui, finora, ha programmato ben 14 percorsi. Insieme, due settimane fa, abbiamo fatto uno dei percorsi da lui programmati. Siamo partiti dal centro di Roviano, un paese in cima alla collina di fronte a Anticoli Corrado, e abbiamo camminato sulle montagne fino a Riofreddo un altro paese vicino. Il paesaggio era fantastico!

Il tempo passa molto velocemente e rimangono poco più di tre mesi. A febbraio ci aspettano molte interessanti esperienze: Iniziero’ a lavorare nella scuola di Anticoli Corrado; io e Bertrand parteciperemo alla formazione SVE a Civitavecchia e visiteremo anche Anzio e Nettuno dove lavorano altri volontari SVE.

Happy new year!

During the Christmas holidays, all of us were away from il Casone, and we returned to our homes, for staying with our friends and families. It was nice to see my family, relatives and friends because I have missed them a lot! When we came back to il Casone, in the 2^nd of January, the weather here was unusually cold. During some days, temperature was 0 degree. Even the fountain in the central piazza of Anticoli Corrado was frozen!

We have started some new projects in January. During the last weeks, we have been working with translation by translating a document that is written by V.A.R.A (Valle dell'Aniene Rete Associazioni) which is a network of associations that work for promotion of the Aniene valley. I have been translating the document from Italian to English. Translating has been challenging for me but at the same time it is very interesting because I learn a lot of history and culture of Aniene valley. In addition, we will start a project in the elementary school of Anticoli Corrado from the beginning of February. I’ll organize activities in English every Friday with help of Camilla and the others from Legambiente. The school is situated near the town hall of Anticoli Corrado. The goal is that children will learn English in a pleasant and funny way. We use music, games and oral practice as learning methods. I’m very happy about this opportunity, because I like working with children a lot. Right now I’m planning the activities for the school and the first meeting is on the next week. For finding new ideas for the activities and getting more experience working with children, I started also to participate in lessions that Roberta Miracapillo, the president of Legambiente Mondi Possibili, organizes in Rome for the school project. This experience is very important and useful for me.

Bertrand has continued his project about planning and organizing walk routes in Aniene valley. So far he has planned 14 walk routes. Two weeks ago we did one of his walk routes together. We left from the center of Roviano, which is a village in the top of a hill opposite Anticoli Corrado, and we walked in the mountains, until Riofreddo, which is another village near. The view was fantastic!

Time is passing very fast and we have only little bit more than 3 months remaining from our project. In February we are expecting many interesting experiences: I start working in the school of Anticoli Corrado, me and Bertrand participate in formation of EVS in Civitavecchia and we’ll visit other EVS-volunteers in Anzio and Nettuno.
